About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician responsible for the repair and maintenance of large construction equipment. This role involves extensive travel to various job sites to perform repairs. The home base for this position is the Shippingport, PA area. The company has over 75 years of experience and is one of America's 50 largest General Contractors, servicing clients in both private and public sectors with services including heavy civil/industrial construction such as highways, bridges, underground utilities, water/wastewater facilities, and marine construction.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience preferred.
• Use hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead crane.
• Operation of a variety of types of equipment.
• Diagnosis and repair of diesel engines.
• Maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair aftertreatment systems.
• Hydraulic troubleshooting.
• Use of hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Crane knowledge a plus.
• Ability to properly document work completed.
• Desire to take on new challenges.
• Willingness to work on a variety of equipment in both the shop and field environment.

Nice To Haves

• Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment.
• Utilize a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes for the safe assembly and disassembly of components.
• Write and complete service reports.
• Participate in company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Focus on Heavy equipment, including trucks, trailers, and small construction equipment as needed.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
