About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Dirt Operator based in Houston, Texas. This is a maintenance position working 6x10 shifts with no per diem. Requirements

• NCCER certification
• Valid Driver's License
• TWIC Card
• Carry deck experience
• Forklift experience
• Crane experience up to 120 ton
• 4 years of dirt operating equipment experience

Responsibilities

• Operate electric, diesel, gasoline, or steam powered power construction equipment, such as a motor grader, bulldozer, scraper, shovel, derrick, tractor, front-end loader or other power equipment to excavate, move or grade earth, erect structures, move products, equipment, or materials to and from industrial work areas.
• Push and pull levers and depress pedals to raise, lower, and rotate boom and to raise and lower load line or to raise and lower blade or bucket.
• Raise, lower blade or bucket, and rotate boom or load by sight or according to signals from helper.
• Inspect equipment for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
• Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
• Clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
