About The Position

Claiborne Hauling, LLC, an established trucking, hauling, and site development company based in Knoxville, Tennessee, is seeking an experienced and dependable Class 8 Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic. The role focuses on maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of the company’s fleet through diagnosis, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of heavy-duty diesel trucks, strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, and hands-on repair experience, while demonstrating pride in their workmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and professionalism.

Requirements

• Previous experience repairing and maintaining Class 8 or heavy-duty diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
• Strong diesel, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and software.
• Knowledge of air brake, suspension, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Ability to safely use shop tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• CDL.
• Applicable certifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine issues on Class 8 trucks.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine services.
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic software, tools, and equipment to identify issues accurately.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.
• Identify additional maintenance or repair needs during inspections.
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow company safety procedures and established maintenance practices.
