About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Technician for a hybrid role that involves supporting customers across an expansive 70,000 sq. km service area, including large mine sites, infrastructure projects, and industrial operations. This role is critical in providing high-quality service and technical expertise. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex repairs on equipment to minimize downtime. The fleet includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment, and potentially large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment at specialty locations. The company is experiencing double-digit growth and offers internal promotion opportunities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Previous mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills.
Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills.
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.

Nice To Haves

Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
A valid Red Seal (Heavy Duty) is an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Perform advanced diagnostics on equipment.
Make complex repairs on equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
Support customers at remote job sites.
