About The Position

The Mechanic 1st Class is responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty machinery, on-road tractors, and trailers from different manufacturers. The role includes diagnosing and repairing hydraulic brakes, transmissions, air brakes, electronic systems, and engines. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. The position works in a fast-paced warehouse environment and occasionally outdoors. Depending on location needs, technicians must be willing to work second or third shifts on schedules that may include Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday.

Requirements

Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.
Willingness to work second or third shifts and schedules that may include Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday, depending on location needs.
Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and occasionally outdoors.
Must possess the hand tools required for the applicable job assignment.
Must meet D.O.T. requirements required by the job assignment.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
Must frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and turn or pivot throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
ASE certifications.

Responsibilities

Repair diesel, CNG, and gas vehicles.
Operate standard and manual-transmission vehicles.
Operate power and pneumatic tools.
Ensure vehicles are maintained regularly and in a timely manner.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic brakes, transmissions, air brakes, electronic systems, and engines.
