About The Position

WM is seeking a Heavy Duty Technician or Apprentice for a safer work environment. The role offers career progression, stability for your family, and a focus on employee well-being. You will work on equipment requiring a high level of skill, using modern tools and procedures for maintenance on diesel and CNG trucks. Requirements

  • Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic or Truck and Transport Mechanic or a registered Apprentice.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • A valid drivers license, with an acceptable driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Able to travel to other sites to complete the work.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Nice To Haves

  • CVIP certification
  • a valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assisting senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
