About The Position

The Heavy Duty Steward is responsible for maintaining the kitchen area in accordance with county health department and hotel standards. This includes ensuring proper disposal of trash, cleaning various areas of the kitchen, and assisting with the organization and maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Requirements

Appropriate grooming and uniform adherence.
Ability to notify management of repair needs.
Capability to complete cleaning functions requiring ladder access.
Knowledge of county health department and hotel standards for kitchen maintenance and food service supplies.
Ability to handle garbage, trash, and recyclables.
Proficiency in power washing equipment and areas.
Skill in sweeping and mopping kitchen floors.
Willingness to assist other stewarding employees.
Ability to obtain and organize kitchen maintenance supplies.

Responsibilities

Follow all applicable safety precautions.
Ensure that all kitchen trash is removed from the area and disposed of properly.
Is always appropriately groomed and wears the uniform provided.
Notifies department management of needed repair work in the kitchen area.
Completes all general cleaning functions requiring ladder access.
Maintains their assigned kitchen area in accordance with county health department and hotel standards.
Ensure that food service supplies are properly maintained in accordance with county health department and hotel standards.
Take garbage, trash, and recyclables from kitchen areas to disposal sites.
Clean kitchen loading/receiving dock with power wash, daily.
Complete power washing of equipment outdoors.
Complete sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors.
Assist other stewarding employees in their duties regarding kitchen maintenance as time permits.
Obtain kitchen maintenance supplies needed from storage.
Assist in the organization of kitchen maintenance supply storage areas.
Additional related duties as requested by department management.
