About The Position
Finning Canada is seeking passionate and experienced Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technicians (Red Seal preferred) to join their team based out of the Kamloops branch. These technicians will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of various Caterpillar general line equipment, primarily in a field environment, with a focus on Mining Operations and ultra-class Caterpillar equipment. Requirements
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr)
- Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
- Ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
- Required to become a member of the Union associated with this position
Nice To Haves
- Red Seal (preferred)
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
- Previous gas engine and power generation experience
Responsibilities
- Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in either a shop or field environment (possibility of remote locations)
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
