About The Position

This role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, overhauls, and testing on a variety of heavy-duty equipment. The mechanic will be responsible for servicing and replacing components in critical systems such as brakes, electrical, heating, cooling, and hydraulics. A key aspect of the job is troubleshooting equipment failures and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. The position requires adherence to all safety regulations and the ability to work independently while meeting company standards. The mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining tools and the workspace.

Requirements

  • Combination of education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the required duties at a journey-level standard.
  • Specialized training in associated trades such as welding and fabrication.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintaining and repairing gas/diesel internal combustion engines, electrical systems, brakes, heating/cooling systems, hydraulics, undercarriages, final drives, and transmissions.
  • Excellent safety record and good attendance record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors and work productively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, repair record-keeping software (GML), and CMMS systems (Azzier experience a plus).
  • Ability to provide own standard mechanic hand tools.
  • Ability to assemble and fabricate hydraulic hoses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, overhauls, and testing on gas and diesel internal combustion engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, heating, hydraulic systems, final drives, undercarriages, and related assemblies.
  • Service or replace components in brakes, electrical, heating, cooling, hydraulic systems, final drives, undercarriages, and transmissions.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures related to hydraulics, undercarriages, pins, bushings, or electrical problems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on lift trucks and equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and maintain accurate repair records (parts, fluids, labor) using GML software and Azzier CMMS.
  • Operate equipment and tools used in repairing gas and diesel internal combustion engines; maintain tools and workspace in clean, organized condition.
  • Work productively within a team environment to maintain company standards while keeping equipment downtime to a minimum.
  • Follow all Oroville Reman and Reload and WA State safety regulations, Safe Work Procedures, and lockout/tagout protocols. Notify supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Work unsupervised in a self-directed environment while meeting or exceeding expectations and requirements of the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct.
