About The Position

Finning is growing fast—and so are the opportunities! We are currently hiring a Field Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to work with our customers in the Estevan area. This position is based out of Estevan, on a Monday - Friday schedule, but some travel may be required. A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable. Requirements

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification or Agriculture Equipment Technician Certification
  • Valid class 5 drivers license with a successful driver's abstract
  • Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Previous gas engine and power generation experience is an asset
  • Previous customer experience would be considered an asset
  • Alternative Journeyperson Certifications will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in either a shop or field environment (possibility of remote locations)
  • Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
