About The Position
Speers Construction Inc. is a rapidly growing civil construction company in Revelstoke, BC, that is part of Jim Dent Construction. Jim Dent is a long-standing leader in Heavy Civil Construction industry. Speers Construction Inc. has a core focus of building better business through long-term clients and long-term profitability. We are currently looking for a Heavy Duty Apprentice Mechanic to assist our maintenance team in Revelstoke. The successful candidate will be an individual with a flexible schedule to work with our teams across multiple civil construction projects throughout British Columbia.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Nice To Haves
- Set up in the BC apprentice program is an asset but not required. We are willing to work with someone who wants to get into the industry on a trial basis.
- Welding experience is a definite asset.
- Air Brake endorsement would be an asset.
- Experience with construction equipment is desired but not required.
Responsibilities
- Self -starter who can listen to direction and work independently.
- Strong work ethic, reliable and positive team attitude.
- Ability to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
- Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Complete reports, work orders, order parts and perform other administrative duties as required daily.
- Performing other duties as required.
- Must participate and develop Safe Work Procedures.
