About The Position
The Mechanic at Jamestown NY is responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance for a fleet of 20 trucks operating out of Jamestown, Allegany and Dunkirk. Operating out of the Jamestown shop and reporting to the plant manager, this position is critical for the operational success of Heidelberg’s Southern Tier business.
Requirements
- Proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures
- Strong commitment to safety and preventative maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel equipment
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with company standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete work efficiently
