About The Position

The Heavy Cleaner maintains the facility in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition. The role includes daily cleaning of patient rooms and support areas, discharge cleaning, and specialized cleaning tasks. Team members are expected to communicate courteously with patients, maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, and provide excellent customer service to support positive patient satisfaction.

Requirements

High school diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED-equivalent program.

Responsibilities

Clean patient rooms daily, including dusting vertical surfaces, damp-wiping furniture, servicing restrooms, removing regulated and medical waste, mopping or vacuuming floors, spot-cleaning visibly soiled walls, and inspecting work.
Perform discharge cleaning according to the Housekeeping policy and procedure manual.
Clean support areas such as corridors, utility rooms, pantries, nurses’ stations, and treatment areas using the patient-room cleaning procedures.
Gather supplies and equipment needed for assigned work and maintain equipment in acceptable condition.
Provide excellent customer service to support positive and improving patient satisfaction scores.
Burnish floors.
Wash walls.
Move heavy and light equipment.
Change cubicle curtains.
Clean windows.
Perform carpet bonnet cleaning or extraction shampooing.
Clean upholstery using appropriate techniques.
Strip and refinish floors.
Perform cycle cleaning of surgical suites according to the Housekeeping policy and procedure manual.
Perform other duties as assigned.
