About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Heavy Belt Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality heavy-duty belts used in various industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Starting at $21.37 per hour. This position is eligible for a 90-day performance increase. Rate after 90-days: $22.17 per hour. 2nd Shift receives an additional $2.00 per hour as shift differential.   • Over 3 and up to 12 months of previous qualifying experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work from bills of materials and instructions from supervision to determine assembly requirements.
  • Assemble steel belts and roller blocks by placing hinge link pitches on work table; inserting pins, side bars, spacers, roller blocks and cotter pins or nuts to complete chain installation on both sides of belts.
  • Place bushel bars, bushings and rollers into press and operate press to assemble roller blocks.
  • Use hoist and floor controlled crane to handle heavy parts, belt sander to smooth pin ends, impact wrench to tighten nuts and grease gun to grease pins.
  • Measure conveyors and parts to calculate size requirements and construct crates, skids and boxes for shipment of equipment and parts.
  • Use floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
