About The Position

The belt operator is responsible for cleaning, and operating the belt. The operator will drain the whey from each vat, test pH, test TA’s, and transfer curd to the cooker. Always adheres to all USDA, GMP and safety regulations.

Requirements

Must work in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures including use of safety equipment
All production personnel are responsible for food safety including, but not limited to practicing GMP’s and appropriate food defense techniques.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Being able to resolve issues/problems that involve numerous variables in demanding situations.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, and squat for several minutes at a time
Must be able to stand on feet for at least a two hour consecutive time period
Must be able to lift up to eighty (50) pounds
Must be able to enter into confined spaces
Ability to reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear
Employees is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel

Nice To Haves

Cheese making experience
Cheese making short course
Possess good communication, math, and statistical skills; good mechanical aptitude

Clean belt and related systems
Operate belt efficiently to produce cheese within the desired results
CIP lines and equipment
Trouble shoot equipment and cheese make problems
Responsible for maintaining a clear, orderly, and neat work area
Ensure a safe work place, address safety concerns, and be involved with the safety program
