The Heat Treating Manufacturing Engineer will be a full-time team member focused on process excellence and quality, developing, optimizing, and maintaining heat-treat processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to continuous improvement within a supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and metallurgical requirements

  • Experience with heat-treat operations in aerospace or precision manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Developing, optimizing, and maintaining heat-treat processes including hardening, tempering, annealing, carburizing, and stress relieving
  • Creating and updating process documentation, work instructions, and heat-treat recipes
  • Monitoring furnace performance, temperature uniformity, and equipment calibration to meet AMS, NADCAP, and customer requirements
  • Troubleshooting heat-treat issues such as distortion, hardness variation, microstructure deviations, and quench performance
  • Supporting metallurgical testing, hardness checks, and microstructure evaluations
  • Leading root-cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformances
  • Collaborating with Quality, Production, and Maintenance to ensure consistent process control
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting with NADCAP audits and compliance documentation
  • Supporting new product launches by developing heat-treat process flows for new parts
