About The Position

This role requires an individual with a basic to moderate understanding of the metallurgical effects of steel as a result of coatings processes. After completing training and mentoring, the Heat Treater will require little to no help from supervisors or others to complete assigned tasks. The role demands a complete understanding of the job role, company policies, and processes. The Heat Treater may operate specialized equipment and will need to understand and interpret drawings/diagrams. This position involves intensive formal training, including classroom instruction and practical application, and requires maintaining technical certificates as needed. The work demands extensive planning, attention to detail, and the use of good judgment. The Heat Treater will determine and develop approaches to solve a broad range of complex problems that can potentially occur with the thermal treatment process and must adhere to an attendance policy.

Requirements

• Basic to moderate understanding of the metallurgical effects of steel as a result of coatings processes.
• Good communication skills.
• Team player.
• Competent with the use of basic hand tools including a tape measure.
• Open to learning and suggesting new approaches and techniques with the heat treatment process.
