About The Position

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Heat Treat Operator in Kings Mountain, NC. The range for this position is $22.15 - $27.60 per hour with scheduled pay increases at 6 months and 1 year of service. The hours are 5:45 pm until 6:15 am. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year experience of machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Kings Mountain, NC facility to be considered. Active Duty military members are exempt from this requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and operating assigned machines, gauging equipment, and blast‑cleaning equipment used to process machined components both before and after heat‑treat operations.
  • Loading and unloading metal parts from heat‑treat furnaces.
  • Operating furnace loading and pushing devices.
  • Managing load/unload cars to ensure heat‑treat cycles are completed efficiently.
  • Operate all blast‑cleaning equipment and auxiliary systems to clean heat‑treated parts.
  • Assemble metal gears, shafts, washers, and related components onto fixtures according to the computerized Load Plan for heat‑treat cycles.
  • Maintain the Heat Treat management system, logs, Rockwell inspection tags, and test pin load identification numbers.
  • Interpret blueprints to apply no‑carb paint for masking.
  • Assist furnace technicians and maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Perform minor and preventive maintenance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team efforts toward department and plant goals.
