About The Position

The Heat Seamer Specialist is responsible for operating a Leister Uniplan machine to create seams and finished edges of consistent quality on various vinyl products. This role involves closely monitoring for seam defects, following established seaming procedures, ensuring safe operation of equipment, and completing necessary paperwork. The specialist will also perform tasks such as joining vinyl products, creating finished hems, applying adhesive laminates, and cutting vinyl products to specified lines. Additionally, they will troubleshoot routine problems with materials and equipment, take accurate measurements, repair minor seam defects, and maintain a clean and safe work area. This position requires the ability to work both independently on repetitive tasks and collaboratively with others, with a strong emphasis on quality control throughout the production process.

Requirements

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple, divide and measure up to 1/16.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram.
  • Good hand-eye coordination skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 7-8 hours.
  • Able to crawl around on knees.
  • Able to get up and down safely for work table.
  • Able to lift at least 75lbs.
  • Promote safety and good housekeeping practices.

  • Must be a self-starter who is accurate, precise, and takes pride in their workmanship.
  • Fast and efficient working habits.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.

Responsibilities

  • Join Various vinyl products together.
  • Make finished hems around the perimeter of various vinyl products.
  • Wet apply adhesive laminates to vinyl products.
  • Produce seams of consistent quality, through observation and elimination of any inconsistencies.
  • Cut various vinyl products to specified lines with scissors.
  • Understand and troubleshoot routine problems with materials and equipment.
  • Take accurate measurements per customers request and job workorder.
  • Repair minor seam defects.
  • Work well alone at repetitive work, and also work well with others.
  • Quality check product before starting to ensure quality and workorder specifications are correct.
  • Quality check product when completed to ensure quality of print, specification and overall work meets standard before it goes to the next stage.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform required maintenance on machines and tools.
  • Review and request material needed.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures.
