About The Position

The Heart and Vascular Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist at Sanford Health is responsible for performing and assisting with diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures. These procedures are conducted under the direction of Vascular Surgeons, Cardiologists, or Radiologists, in accordance with Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals (SICP) quality standards and scope of practice. The role requires the ability to execute all duties of a Cardiac Technologist and to cater to the growth and development needs of diverse client populations, ranging from children to geriatrics. Essential knowledge for this position includes cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques, and both emergent and routine cardiac care. The specialist must also demonstrate effective cardiac communication skills, understand change processes, utilize conflict resolution, possess an expert-level understanding of pharmacologic options for patient treatment, and be familiar with special protocols for conscious sedation.

Requirements

  • Knowledge usually acquired through a LPN program or as a cardiovascular technician
  • Experience in a cardiovascular setting or equivalent training specific to this specialized area
  • Basic Life Support required
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is preferred
