About The Position

This position is for a Hearing Officer (Administrative Hearing Officer) within Hamilton County Job and Family Services. The role involves establishing administrative paternities, issuing hearing reports, and establishing support orders according to specific processing times and accuracy standards. The employee will collaborate with team members and other departments to enhance data collection and reporting initiatives within the administrative hearing program. The position also requires attending conferences and training, and performing other related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • 24 months training or experience in Child Support state and/or federal rules, regulations & law
  • 12 months training or experience involving writing business correspondence or preparation of reports
  • 100 hours training and/or experience in interviewing
  • 100 hours training or 1-month experience in public relations or equivalent
  • Upon employment must be eligible to obtain Notary Public for the State of Ohio in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 3111.53 and Ohio Administrative Code Section 5101:12-30-25.
  • Maintain Administrative Hearing Officer accreditation by completing 10 hours of annual administrative hearing officer training sponsored by the Ohio CSEA Directors’ Association for new hires; then 8 hours every year thereafter
  • Must have a car, valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency and required auto liability insurance.

  • Skill in: operating agency networked personal computer, software and program operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Establish administrative paternities by processing 98% of cases assigned within 45 days.
  • Issue hearing reports within 5 days on 98% of administrative modification hearings scheduled.
  • Establish support orders by processing 98% of cases assigned within 35 days of being received.
  • Collaborate with team leader, information systems, quality assurance and others as necessary to enhance data collection analysis, and report initiatives within the administrative hearing program area.
  • Attends conferences and training.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
