Requirements

  • Must be available Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • Ability to reliably commute between both the Hazleton and Lehighton office locations as scheduled.
  • Familiarity with accessing medical or managed care web portals and accurately entering patient/billing data.
  • Strong phone etiquette and patient communication skills to effectively troubleshoot device issues and coordinate with the provider.
  • Experience handling payments, collecting copays, and balancing transactions accurately.
  • Comfort learning specialized hearing healthcare software and demonstrating device maintenance/orientation to patients.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Medical Clinic Experience

Responsibilities

  • Access managed care portals to enter precise patient, device, and coverage data to complete appointments and submit claims.
  • Collect and process patient copays, insurance deductibles, and outstanding balance payments at time of service.
  • Manage intake paperwork, patient records, and basic insurance coverage verifications.
  • Balance daily point-of-sale transactions and ensure accurate administrative recordkeeping.
  • Work directly with the Provider to schedule patients efficiently, ensuring smooth clinic flow and optimal appointment management.
  • Make follow-up calls and return patient calls to troubleshoot hearing aid issues over the phone or set up in-office care appointments.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, address patient inquiries, and coordinate daily provider calendars.
  • Maintain clear communication between the provider and patients regarding care plans, device status, and testing appointments.
  • Warmly greet patients, manage front desk check-in/check-out, and maintain a welcoming office environment.
  • Conduct face-to-face hearing aid orientations, walking patients through insertion, removal, daily care, control adjustments, and mobile app pairing.
  • Assist patients with routine hearing aid care, including cleaning, receiver/wax guard replacements, and charger or battery check-ups.
  • Perform minor in-office troubleshooting and check in incoming custom device orders, repairs, and accessories from manufacturers.
