About The Position

The Healthy Families America Supervisor acts as a team leader and support for the program and program manager. This role involves providing home-based delivery services, possessing and sharing knowledge of Maternal and Child learning, and offering daily support and crisis management to direct service staff. The position may also include delivering components of service, family support, and family assessment, in addition to overseeing direct service staff, data entry, reporting, record compliance, and family contact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Family Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • Experience with home-based delivery of services and knowledge of Maternal and Child Learning.
  • Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment.
  • 1-year relevant supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, write reports, correspondence, and create meeting agendas.
  • Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations.
  • Complete all required background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Family Counseling, Social Work, Psychology/Sociology.
  • Infant mental health endorsement and reflective practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a team leader and support for the Healthy Families America program and program manager.
  • Provide home-based delivery services and knowledge of Maternal and Child learning.
  • Offer daily support and crisis management to direct service staff.
  • Deliver components of service, family support, and family assessment.
  • Oversee direct service staff, data entry, reporting, record compliance, and family contact.
  • Attend all HFA trainings in the GGK curriculum, including Parent Survey training, FROG training, RIDOH MIECHV, and supervisor trainings.
  • Attend training for Reflective Supervision and provide regular supervision to direct service staff weekly.
  • Attend regular Supervisory meetings with MIECHV, Department of Health team, and LIT meetings.
  • Utilize the curriculum to support staff in supporting families.
  • Monitor staff progress, goals, trainings, and areas of need, documenting in supervision notes.
  • Present information and respond to questions from individuals seeking services and the general public.
  • Utilize and assess tools to identify and address substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence, etc., and refer to appropriate community resources.
  • Assist staff in supporting families to become empowered to meet their goals.
  • Maintain expertise in providing home-based services and completing assessment procedures.
  • Maintain/gain knowledge of infant and child development, parent-child attachment, parent-infant health, and the dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
  • Engage in building reflective practice.
  • Assist staff in completing home visit documentation, assessments, and screenings within HFA required timeframes.
  • Participate in QI initiatives, monitor, and maintain the data collection system and entry.
  • Assist in staff selection, training, and orientation; shadow home visits and monitor staff performance.
  • Maintain boundaries with families in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Adhere to child abuse and neglect reporting laws.

  • Run reports to support program compliance, billing, HFA accreditation, and federal benchmarks.
  • Call referral sources and families to engage in services and schedule visits.
