About The Position

The Healthy Communities Program focuses on the work of the Litigation Directors for Drinking Water, Pesticides, and Crosscutting Toxics. As a summer clerk, you will assist with the development and advancement of strategic advocacy goals related to these areas using state and federal laws. This includes intersectional work such as legal advocacy to address pesticide contamination of drinking water. You will conduct legal and factual research, draft memoranda and court pleadings, and assist attorneys with client interactions and oral argument preparation. The team collaborates with other programs to foster professional connections within the office and the broader public-interest legal community. We seek applicants who demonstrate core legal research, writing, and advocacy skills, along with emotional intelligence and cultural competency. Earthjustice, founded in 1971, has a strong history of achieving significant environmental protections by using the power of law and partnerships to protect health, preserve natural places and wildlife, advance clean energy, and combat climate change.
