The Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness (CHECW) aims to eliminate racial and other inequities that lead to premature mortality. CHECW addresses inequities across community and healthcare systems in partnership with various organizations. The Bureau of Equitable Health Systems (BEHS) is the health care systems bureau of DOHMH, focused on improving equity in health care delivery. The Health Care Access & Policy (HCAP) Office within BEHS works to improve health insurance coverage and access to affordable, high-quality primary care, with a strong emphasis on health equity. The Healthy Aging Unit within HCAP supports older adults and their caregivers, and strengthens the NYC Health Department's ability to monitor and respond to the health needs of older adults. This role offers an opportunity for a public health professional interested in disease prevention, healthcare policy, health insurance (Medicare/Medicaid), and research. The Bureau of Equitable Health Systems is seeking a Healthy Aging Program Coordinator to manage initiatives and multiple projects in support of the Bureau's mission.
