About The Position

Gainwell is seeking a Healthcare Systems Analyst to support technology solutions that improve healthcare services for vulnerable communities. The analyst collaborates with other analysts and project teams to research and analyze requirements, assess data transformation needs, create program specifications and mapping documents, and present findings and design recommendations to team members, clients, and vendors. The role coordinates with ETL, reporting, and conversion teams to ensure solutions meet documented business requirements and validates interfaces, reports, and test results. The analyst works with development leads and project management to coordinate assignments, maintain project documentation, and deliver work on schedule. The role creates and refines mapping documents, supports design and development activities, works with configuration teams and database administrators, and supports testing across unit, integration, system, and user acceptance stages. The position is remote within the United States, with occasional travel of 0–10% and a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience supporting Pharmacy Benefits, Claims Administration, Medicaid, Medicare, healthcare payers, or other highly regulated healthcare environments.
At least 7 years of experience using SQL to analyze, validate, reconcile, transform, and troubleshoot complex relational data.
Experience supporting large-scale system implementations, modernization, conversions, DDI programs, production stabilization, defect triage, data remediation, and operational handoff.
Experience creating source-to-target mappings, interface specifications, test artifacts, ICDs, companion guides, mapping workbooks, synthetic test data, and complex end-to-end test scenarios.
Strong project management, data analysis, and healthcare claims expertise.
Experience with Databricks, ETL Gateway or similar integration frameworks, Azure DevOps, and application lifecycle management tools.
Experience mentoring analysts while maintaining HIPAA compliance and effective stakeholder communication.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel as required.
Video cameras must be used during interviews and the initial week of orientation.

Responsibilities

Coordinate project work assignments with the development lead.
Work with project management to complete documentation requirements.
Create accurate mapping documents according to the mapping process and refine them as questions are resolved.
Determine which mapping details can be deferred while enabling ETL, reporting, and conversion teams to begin coding.
Support DSD creation and response.
Present analysis and design recommendations to lead MITA teams, customers, and vendors to gain acceptance of designs.
Support ETL, reporting, and conversion developers using the created mappings.
Coordinate with configuration teams and DBAs to ensure configuration is aligned with interfaces and mappings.
Use SQL, data models, data element dictionaries, and schemas for data and business analysis.
Create unit test cases for the area of responsibility.
Validate test plan results against detailed design goals.
Update technical specifications and mappings.
Support unit testing, system integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing.
Perform data analysis to understand transformation requirements and verify that code meets documented business requirements.
Research requirements, design mapping documents, and present findings to appropriate team members, clients, and vendors.
Recommend improvements to current practices.
Work with the development lead to help ensure project tasks are completed on schedule.
