About The Position

Coastal Security Services, Inc. is hiring Healthcare Security Officers to work at medical facilities in the Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, SC area. The role involves maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and medical staff. This position requires a professional, composed individual who can handle sensitive situations with discretion and respond quickly when needed. Multiple shifts (day, evening, overnight) and employment types (full-time, part-time) are available.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
Must possess or be able to obtain a SC SLED Unarmed Security Officer Registration
Clean criminal background — must pass SLED background check
Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Bluffton / Hilton Head Island area
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Professional demeanor and composure under pressure
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience
Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment
Crisis intervention or de-escalation training
Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV, and incident reporting

Responsibilities

Provide security coverage at assigned medical facilities
Monitor and control access to buildings and restricted areas
Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the facility and grounds
Respond to emergency situations, disturbances, and code calls
Assist medical staff with patient safety situations as needed
Monitor security cameras and alarm systems
Enforce facility policies and visitor management procedures
Document all activity, incidents, and observations in daily reports
Serve as a visible, approachable security presence for patients, families, and staff
