Healthcare Reimbursement Senior Consulting Manager
About The Position
At Plante Moran, the management consulting team partners with clients to improve performance, strengthen financial outcomes, and navigate the evolving healthcare landscape. This role advises post-acute healthcare providers on reimbursement optimization, financial performance, and business decisions. The Senior Consulting Manager leads client engagements, builds client relationships, and contributes to the growth of the practice. The position is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, or Metro Detroit and is primarily in person. Plante Moran follows a “Workplace for Your Day” model that supports flexibility in coordination with supervisors and teams while maintaining a principally in-person approach. Travel is 10%–15%. This is an exempt position and may require working more than the standard 40-hour work week.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Seven or more years of experience in post-acute healthcare reimbursement, including Medicare, Medicaid, and cost reporting, in public accounting, healthcare consulting, reimbursement consulting, or a post-acute setting.
- Strong accounting and financial analysis skills, including the ability to identify trends, variances, and process-improvement opportunities.
- Proficiency with financial reporting systems, Microsoft Office, and related business applications.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, except for qualified candidates bilingual in Japanese and English or Chinese and English.
Nice To Haves
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage consulting engagements focused on post-acute healthcare reimbursement, financial performance, and accounting-related services.
- Provide clients with strategic guidance on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement matters.
- Prepare, review, and analyze Skilled Nursing Facility, Home Health, and Hospice Medicare and Medicaid cost reports in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Analyze financial, reimbursement, and operational data to identify opportunities for revenue optimization, reimbursement improvement, staffing efficiencies, and expense management.
- Provide accounting and financial advisory support to clients as needed.
- Help clients maximize reimbursement opportunities and improve overall financial performance.
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate consulting staff, supporting their professional growth and quality client service.
- Build, maintain, and expand client relationships, and contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives.
