About The Position

Blue & Co., LLC is a dynamic and innovative accounting and advisory firm providing growth-committed entrepreneurial clients with accounting and consulting services across multiple industries. Healthcare is our largest niche with more than 170 experienced professionals dedicated specifically to the industry. We are currently seeking a Reimbursement Manger to join our firm-wide Healthcare Advisory practice. This position offers flexibility, with the option to work fully remote within Michigan or in a hybrid, flexible capacity from our Detroit, Michigan office. As a Reimbursement Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of our clients in the healthcare sector. You will be responsible for the meticulous preparation and review of cost report work papers, provider application and certification support, managing state supplemental payment program reporting and consulting, managing client relationships, and offering various other accounting and reimbursement assistance within hospitals under the supervision of a Reimbursement Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Healthcare Consulting, Reimbursement, or Cost Reporting.
  • Strong mentoring, leadership, and training skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to oversee, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Provide analysis of various reimbursement projects which may include Medicare DSH, Medicaid DSH, Wage Index, Occupational Mix, IME, GME and Worksheet S-10 engagements.
  • Monitor engagement status and budget requirements for profitable and timely completion of assigned reimbursement projects.
  • Plan, develop strategies, and supervise Reimbursement Associates in all phases of cost report engagements.
  • Manage and collaborate with clients to develop strategic reimbursement plans aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Research regulatory issues that arise during engagements.
  • Identify opportunities and deliver recommendations to clients assist them with making strategic reimbursement decisions.
  • Build relationships with clients and community contacts to contribute to the overall marketing efforts of the Firm.
  • Work cross-functionally with other members of the healthcare consulting practice.
