About The Position

The Healthcare Recruitment Specialist is a full-cycle recruiting professional within the Housing Works People Operations team, responsible for leading hiring efforts across our healthcare and clinic operations. This role focuses on recruiting clinical talent including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, and other patient-facing healthcare staff. This position partners closely with Clinical Leadership, Human Resources, Hiring Managers, and external healthcare sourcing partners to attract, evaluate, and hire high-quality clinical candidates while ensuring compliance, speed-to-hire, and an exceptional candidate experience. This role is ideal for a recruiter with healthcare recruiting experience, strong pipeline-building skills, and the ability to manage high-volume clinical hiring while maintaining accurate data and reporting.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 2 years in healthcare recruiting strongly preferred
  • Proven experience hiring for clinical roles (RN, NP, MD, MA, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of healthcare credentials, licensing, and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing high-volume recruitment in fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency in Excel and applicant tracking systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams

Responsibilities

  • Source and attract qualified healthcare professionals using ATS systems, LinkedIn, Indeed (including sponsored postings), healthcare job boards (e.g., Health eCareers, PracticeLink), and professional networks
  • Build pipelines for high-demand clinical roles including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Partner with nursing schools, medical programs, workforce development organizations, and healthcare associations
  • Conduct cold outreach and targeted engagement campaigns for hard-to-fill clinical roles
  • Represent Housing Works at healthcare-focused job fairs, conferences, and recruitment events
  • Track weekly sourcing activity, outreach efforts, and pipeline health
  • Review and screen 30–40 healthcare resumes weekly with a focus on licensure, credentials, and clinical experience
  • Conduct at least 15 structured phone screens weekly, assessing clinical competency, certifications, and culture fit
  • Partner with clinical hiring managers to align on candidate qualifications and role requirements
  • Coordinate interviews with physicians, clinic leadership, and department heads
  • Ensure credentialing requirements (licenses, certifications, compliance) are verified early in the process
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare hiring regulations and internal policies
  • Manage requisitions for clinic and healthcare roles through UKG.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to clinic leadership, providing updates on pipeline, challenges, and hiring timelines
  • Coordinate background checks, credential verification, and pre-employment clearances specific to healthcare roles
  • Support offer development and hiring decisions in partnership with HR and clinical leadership
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment lifecycle
  • Maintain detailed Excel trackers for open clinical roles and hiring status, candidate pipelines by specialty (RN, NP, MD, MA, etc.), resume flow, screenings, interviews, and hiring outcomes, time-to-fill and recruitment funnel metrics
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date candidate disposition and next steps
  • Prepare monthly recruiting reports highlighting clinical hiring activity, pipeline trends, and hiring outcomes
  • Ensure data accuracy, especially related to credentialing and compliance tracking
  • Coordinate onboarding for clinical hires, ensuring all healthcare compliance requirements are met (licenses, certifications, immunizations, etc.)
  • Track and confirm completion of credentialing and onboarding documentation prior to start date
  • Partner with HR and clinic leadership on onboarding timelines and readiness
  • Support orientation logistics and onboarding schedules for clinic staff
  • Conduct early check-ins with new clinical hires to support retention and engagement
  • Track 30/60/90-day milestones for healthcare employees
  • Identify opportunities to improve healthcare recruiting processes, especially for hard-to-fill roles
  • Recommend new sourcing strategies for clinical talent pipelines
  • Stay informed on healthcare labor market trends, compensation benchmarks, and licensing requirements
  • Support broader People Operations initiatives and workforce planning efforts
