About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Analyst in Commercial Banking Specialized Industries - Healthcare to work in partnerships with deal teams that provides research, analysis, and underwriting to prepare recommendations to extend credit and monitor existing client relationships. The portfolio consists of corporate (primarily leveraged) and sponsor-backed portfolio companies in the healthcare space. In this role, you will research complex financial and credit information for commercial businesses according to business unit standards. You will play an instrumental role in the deal process including due diligence, credit analysis, industry and business risk analysis, financial modeling and projections in support of decision-making activities of loan underwriting, origination and structuring for Middle Market and Mid-Corporate sized corporate or sponsor-backed portfolio companies in the healthcare space. You will exercise independent judgement while developing an understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. General responsibilities include working with risk, relationship managers, and credit to originate, monitor, and grow relationships. You will be specifically accountable for credit underwriting and origination, portfolio monitoring, renewals, and annual reviews. You will collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to understand credit needs and represent the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships. You will integrate AI tools into underwriting and portfolio workflows to streamline research, accelerate production, and drive innovation and efficiency. You will also assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Mid-Corporate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data
  • Ability to perform in-depth commercial financial statement analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of debt and equity capital markets
  • Underwriting experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including using Excel for financial analysis and projection modeling
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including ability to present to decision makers and customers in a professional and confident manner
  • FINRA background screening requirements
  • Must meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
