About The Position

As the Healthcare Manager, you’ll lead a team dedicated to delivering nutritious, comforting meals with genuine care. This position blends operational oversight and clinical responsibilities, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards while fostering a positive environment for residents, guests, and staff. This position requires up to 40% clinical support and 60% operational oversight.

Requirements

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM, CFPP) credential required; DTR or RD preferred
  • Minimum 2–3 years of foodservice management experience in healthcare, senior living, or CCRC setting
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in nutrient analysis, menu planning, EMR systems, menu management systems, and Microsoft 365 (including Teams)
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and senior nutrition
  • Ability to maintain annual CEU requirements and log credits with ANFP
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • ServSafe® and/or State Food Handler Certification
  • Successful background check, drug screen, and health/TB tests (state-specific)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director, Chef, and Registered Dietitian to develop menus that meet nutritional standards and accommodate therapeutic diets.
  • Perform clinical charting per Thomas Cuisine standards, including food preferences, low-risk documentation, and participation in QAPI processes.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff, fostering a collaborative, resident-focused environment.
  • Act as subject matter expert on therapeutic and mechanically altered diets in the absence of the RD.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, OBRA, HACCP, and all federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.
  • Engage with residents, families, and healthcare teams to assess dietary needs and enhance satisfaction through feedback and care plan reviews.
  • Support community programming such as Cultivate Kitchen and lifestyle events.
  • Manage food and supply inventories, control costs, and maintain budget compliance.
  • Conduct inspections, monitor food safety practices, and maintain documentation for audits and compliance.
  • Introduce innovative dining programs and wellness initiatives to promote health and engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
