About The Position

South Boston Community Health Center is offering an on-site healthcare management internship at its South Boston, Massachusetts location. The internship lasts at least one year and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week. Interns gain hands-on experience with health center operations and patient access, working with professionals across departments to understand healthcare management and behind-the-scenes operations. Each intern takes ownership of a process improvement project with a mentor, with the aim of improving efficiency or patient care and implementing meaningful changes. The wage is $19 per hour.

Requirements

• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Currently enrolled as a graduate student or a recent graduate pursuing a degree in Healthcare Management or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Genuine interest in healthcare, patient care, and healthcare operations.
• Problem-solving abilities, including creativity, analytical thinking, and inquiry to understand issues and recommend solutions proactively.
• Ability to collaborate and work independently, with initiative to identify problems or tasks.
