About The Position

As a Healthcare Maintenance Technician at JLL, you will play an essential role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and comfort of healthcare facilities for our clients. This position involves performing a variety of routine and semi-skilled maintenance tasks to ensure that buildings, equipment, and grounds operate smoothly and meet the highest standards of care. Requirements

  • Completion and certification from the Triton College/Local 399 Healthcare Facilities Maintenance Certificate Program, or equivalent coursework subject to management approval (non-negotiable)
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening as required for access to all secured healthcare buildings
  • Familiarity with the use and care of common equipment and tools for basic and semi-skilled general maintenance repair tasks
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings with supervisory support
  • Capability to perform manual labor indoors and outdoors for extended periods, including standing, kneeling, walking, lifting, and working in small or cramped areas
  • Ability to work at elevations greater than ten feet, climb ladders or steps, and move objects such as furniture, equipment, and supplies

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or institutional facility maintenance environment
  • Basic understanding of OSHA safety procedures and ability to learn and practice safety regulations
  • Ability to distinguish colors for electrical repairs and detect natural gas leaks, smoke, and chemicals
  • Experience documenting maintenance activities and managing basic tool inventory
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, clients, and the public
  • Willingness to aid skilled maintenance technicians in performing after-hours emergency repairs by assignment
  • Eagerness to learn assigned tasks quickly and correctly through on-the-job training and educational opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine plumbing repairs including repairing faucets, unplugging toilets and drains, and addressing minor plumbing issues
  • Replace light bulbs, LED bulbs, and fluorescent lights throughout assigned healthcare facilities
  • Make electrical-related repairs such as replacing electrical receptacles and troubleshooting basic electrical issues
  • Perform routine carpentry work including ceiling tile replacement, installing door stops, adjustable shelving, and hanging items such as whiteboards and baskets
  • Assist HVAC technicians with the continuous cleaning of all vents in assigned areas and perform filter changes, valve replacements, or other skilled work under direct supervision
  • Conduct facility experience rounding as assigned to identify and address maintenance needs proactively
  • Document time, materials used, and completed tasks on work orders/requests to maintain accurate records and support inventory management
