About The Position

The Healthcare Facility & Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient clinical environment. This role oversees facility operations, regulatory compliance, environmental health and safety programs, and emergency preparedness within the clinic. The position ensures adherence to OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission (if applicable), and state/local regulations while promoting a culture of safety for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare safety, facilities management, or environmental health & safety
  • Experience in a clinic, hospital, or healthcare setting strongly preferred
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission)
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to conduct inspections and risk assessments
  • Strong communication and training skills
  • Organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies
  • Proficiency in reporting systems and Microsoft Office
  • Leadership and team coordination abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Healthcare Administration, Environmental Health, or related field
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), or OSHA certification
  • CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and monitors facility safety programs and policies
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, HIPAA (facility-related), infection control, and life safety standards
  • Conducts routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits
  • Manages incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action plans
  • Oversees emergency preparedness plans (fire, disaster, evacuation)
  • Coordinates facility maintenance, repairs, and vendor services
  • Maintains documentation for regulatory surveys and accreditation readiness
  • Collaborates with clinical leadership on infection prevention and hazardous materials handling
  • Provides staff training on workplace safety, ergonomics, and emergency procedures
  • Monitors workplace hazards including biohazards, chemicals, and environmental risks
  • Ensures proper signage, PPE availability, and safety equipment maintenance
  • Tracks safety metrics and prepares reports for leadership
  • Oversees daily facility operations and safety protocols
  • Provides direction and training on workplace safety procedures
  • Conducts performance evaluations for assigned staff (if applicable)
  • Leads safety meetings and committees
