About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Informatics and Reporting, the Healthcare Data Analyst (HDA) will be responsible for data analysis, evaluation and reporting from all data management systems. Other responsibilities include: (1) translating internal business needs into data-driven deliverables and products and (2) creating sustainable reports, dashboards and data models necessary to meet those needs. Working with other IT team members and business representatives, this individual should be able to report and present results and findings to various levels of the organization. The HDA shall facilitate and monitor the electronic exchange of confidential information, generate reports and assist in the evaluation and quality control of databases for all programs. This work shall be conducted in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Health.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in data analytics, data management and data reporting, including experience with IBM Cognos, MSSQL, MS PowerBI and BridgeIT or similar products
  • Experience with healthcare grant funded programs such as AIDS Institute Reporting System (AIRS), eShare, CDC, Cerberus and NYS Health
  • Expertise in Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications; eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred
  • Understanding of systems analysis, workflow design, and data integrity techniques
  • Experience in Business Intelligence software
  • Experience with database development and management
  • Experience in Project Management Methodology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • B.A. or B.S., preferably in Information Technology, Engineering, or Health Care, or High School Diploma and five (5) years of equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

  • Understand and work with all aspects of healthcare (clinical, financial and operational data) to identify trends and other salient information.
  • Work with program managers to ensure the availability of all information required and to compile and submit thorough and timely reports on the status and progress of grant-funded programs.
  • Compile, write and oversee the production of statistical and operational reports required for programs.
  • Work with programming consultants to develop and maintain network-wide databases, including uniform computer system design and data entry procedures, to ensure compatibility.
  • Serve as a liaison to external regulatory agencies to assure contractual compliance in data reporting and submissions.
  • Maintain patient information and conduct research and analysis to develop recommendations for program procedures.
  • Develop, test, configure and update EHR data fields, templates, Smartforms and reports, utilizing eBO registries and other tools, and assist in data collection activities in collaboration with other IT staff.
  • Analyze and report operational and clinical data to supervisors for Ryan Health; select, extract, compile and transform interconnected data elements into meaningful information requested by the clinical leadership for decision-making purposes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive troubleshooting documentation and training material for external databases, EHR configuration and end-user curriculum.
  • Conduct training sessions on system features.
  • Develop clinical/business workflow testing scenarios; identify, diagnose, and resolve workflow issues; recommend enhancements or solutions to problems to improve performance.
  • Analyze and design systems and interfaces to meet user needs, and work with other IT Management staff to troubleshoot problems that occur during daily operations.
  • Recommend new and/or revised procedures for the proper use of databases and the enforcement and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Consult with other IT Management staff for guidance in database integration with EHR.
  • Assist in report production, maintenance, and support of the IT Systems.
  • Attend all meetings and/or training sessions as required.
  • Other special projects/assignments, as needed.
