About The Position

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking to fill an analyst role in our Performance Analytics Team. This position is cross disciplinary and provides the right candidate with the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the development of new processes that inform the health care of three million Ohioans. We are looking to fill the following position: Clinical Data Support Analyst – Provides analytical support for longitudinal clinical data. Conducts longitudinal clinical data research and data exploration of sources and connections to data to support the planning and development of a cumulative patient record. Delivers and maintains key reports used to enhance quality-of-care reporting for the Ohio Medicaid population and support clinical quality improvement projects. Attends meetings to assist in the development of tools, metrics, dashboards, and models to aid in policy decision-making. Responds to data requests from internal and external stakeholders. Prepares reports related to state and federal requirements. The ideal candidates will be familiar with relational databases and demonstrate experience with data analysis. They will be self-directed and enthusiastic about conducting research to enhance program evaluation and oversight. Those from a variety of backgrounds including but not limited to data analytics, public health, public administration, business administration, information technology, sociology, and political science are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Completion of undergraduate core coursework & 12 mos. exp. in one of following: health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics, public health, or comparable field
• 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling
• 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of computer programs/applications used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis & graphics presentation & word processing
• 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in multiple regression or multivariate analysis
• Completion of graduate core coursework in health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics or comparable field
• Familiarity with relational databases
• Experience with data analysis
