About The Position

The successful candidate will have prior experience in originating or monitoring a commercial loan portfolio consisting of borrowers in healthcare-related industries, including spreading and financial analysis. This role is responsible for approving the extension of credit and/or making recommendations to the individuals making the final lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans. Prior to making a credit decision or advising on one, the Credit Analyst conducts a complete credit analysis, gathering, analyzing, and interpreting all types of credit information on existing and prospective customers. They will review customer accounts and portfolios to identify, evaluate, and determine the appropriate course of action on potential credit quality issues to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss to the company. Technological tools, including computer software, may be used to assist in the credit analysis process by helping evaluate a particular credit or a portfolio. The Credit Analyst will use these tools to compare and evaluate possible courses of action and will make recommendations and/or decisions after various possibilities are considered. This posting is for multiple levels: Healthcare Credit Analyst 4, Healthcare Credit Analyst 5, and Healthcare Credit Analyst 6. The level will be determined based on the applicant's experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent underwriting experience
  • Typically one or more years of underwriting experience (for Analyst 4)
  • Typically three or more years of underwriting experience (for Analyst 5)
  • Typically five or more years of underwriting experience (for Analyst 6)
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages
  • Background in economics, accounting, and/or finance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, credit administration, credit policy and procedures, and risk analysis (for Analyst 6)
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages – including nCino and Credit Lens (for Analyst 6)
  • Advanced background in MS Office suite of products and skillset with MS Excel (for Analyst 6)

Responsibilities

  • Approving the extension of credit and/or making recommendations to the person(s) making the final lending decisions on new, renewal and extension loans to approve or deny the extension of credit.
  • Conducting a complete credit analysis including gathering, analyzing, and interpreting all types of credit information on existing and prospective customers.
  • Reviewing customer accounts and portfolios to identify, evaluate and determine the appropriate course of action on potential credit quality issues in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss to the company.
  • Using technological tools, including computer software, to assist in the credit analysis process by helping evaluate a particular credit or a portfolio.
  • Comparing and evaluating possible courses of action and making recommendations and/or decisions after various possibilities are considered.
