About The Position
Join Our Team We are looking for a motivated and eager to learn Healthcare Assistant Apprentice to join our team. This unique opportunity is designed for high school students interested in exploring a future in healthcare while gaining hands-on experience, building professional skills, and working alongside healthcare teams at Deaconess Health System.
Requirements
- Must be a current high school sophomore interested in pursuing a future in healthcare
- No prior healthcare experience required - this is a learning-based apprenticeship opportunity
- Interest in exploring healthcare careers
- Willingness to learn in both classroom and clinical environments
- Reliable transportation to assigned sites
- Ability to meet onboarding requirements (background check, immunizations, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- Current high school sophomores or juniors who are interested in pursuing a future in healthcare and want to get an early start.
Responsibilities
- Attend on-site coursework and training in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College
- Participate in job shadowing and clinical experiences across multiple healthcare settings
- Support care teams while exploring a variety of career paths
- Build confidence in a professional healthcare environment
- Begin preparing for industry-recognized certifications while still in high school
