As a primary community healthcare provider, Humboldt Park Health focuses on treating and curing disease while promoting wellness through health education, prevention, and early intervention. Our 200-bed hospital provides inpatient acute care, emergency services, diagnostic services, and primary care. We also support the community through a full-service professional building, neighborhood clinics, and two mobile health units. We are currently seeking a Healthcare Analytics Specialist to join our team! The Healthcare Analytics Specialist serves as the organization's advanced healthcare analytics expert, responsible for transforming clinical, operational, regulatory, and quality data into meaningful intelligence that supports executive decision-making, regulatory compliance, patient safety, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives. This position goes beyond traditional reporting by integrating data from multiple clinical and business systems, developing sophisticated dashboards, identifying performance trends, conducting predictive and descriptive analytics, and partnering with operational leaders to improve organizational performance. The Healthcare Analytics Specialist functions as a strategic business partner across Quality, Compliance, Risk Management, Operations, Infection Prevention, Patient Experience, and Executive Leadership. The ideal candidate possesses advanced analytical skills, extensive healthcare knowledge, exceptional data visualization capabilities, and a strong understanding of healthcare quality metrics, accreditation standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or Healthcare Quality
  • Bachelors degree required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide healthcare analytics initiatives.

  • Collect data from multiple external healthcare sources including: patient satisfaction surveys, state reporting systems, federal reporting systems, CMS datasets, Joint Commission reporting, Leapfrog reporting, National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN), and Illinois Department of Public Health reporting.
  • Develop repeatable processes for automated data extraction.
  • Ensure data integrity throughout collection processes.
  • Validate source data accuracy.
  • Maintain metadata documentation.

  • Develop recurring reports for: Board of Directors, Executive Leadership, Medical Executive Committee, Quality Committee, Patient Safety Committee, Compliance Committee, Risk Committee, and Infection Prevention Committee.
  • Develop monthly reports, quarterly reports, annual reports, custom ad hoc reports, benchmarking reports, variance reports, trending reports, performance scorecards, and executive summaries.
  • Develop visually compelling reports utilizing graphs, charts, heat maps, and infographics.
  • Analyze performance related to: Core Measures, CMS Quality Measures, Joint Commission standards, Hospital Acquired Conditions, Patient Safety Indicators, Readmissions, Mortality, Length of Stay, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), Emergency Department throughput, Sepsis performance, Stroke measures, AMI measures, Heart Failure measures, Surgical Care Improvement measures, Infection Prevention metrics, Falls, Pressure injuries, Medication Safety, Patient Harm Events, Near Misses, Sentinel Events, and Root Cause Analysis trends.
  • Support Performance Improvement initiatives.
