About The Position

This internship provides relevant field experience in the chosen area of study, with assigned mentors for instruction and guidance. Interns will observe work unit functions and processes, potentially undertake assignments to reinforce learning and benefit the unit, and complete all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo Clinic and their educational facility. The internship duration is for Summer 2027 (May-August).

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a 2-year master's or graduate degree program from a college or university and attending classes in-person.
  • Residential programs are preferred but virtual programs are also considered.
  • The degree program must require an internship as a graduation requirement (or offer as a credit option).
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Not able to support student visas, including F1 visa types, or ANY other visa types.
  • Attach Mayo Clinic Administrative Internship Program Application Form.
  • Attach current resume (one to two pages) including degrees, GPA, college/university, date degrees received/anticipated, academic, work, professional, community, and volunteer experience, scholarly and leadership activities, projects, awards, and honors.
  • Attach two Letters of recommendation (one academic, one professional).
  • Attach Unofficial Undergraduate and Graduate Transcripts.

Nice To Haves

  • Virtual programs are also considered.
  • The internship would typically occur after the student has taken most of the courses required by the graduate degree program.

Responsibilities

  • Internship project work including project management, data analysis, observations, benchmarking and a final presentation.
  • Gain exposure to the organization as a whole through lunch and learns, mentorship and virtual site visits.
  • Observe the functions and processes of the assigned work unit.
  • Complete selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience, assess performance levels and provide benefit to the work unit.
  • Complete all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo and the participating educational facility.
