About The Position

This internship provides relevant field experiences in healthcare administration for students enrolled in a 2-year master's or graduate degree program. Interns will engage in project management, data analysis, observations, and benchmarking, culminating in a final presentation. The program offers exposure to the organization through learning sessions, mentorship, and virtual site visits, with opportunities available at various Mayo Clinic locations including Arizona, Florida, and Health System sites in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Rochester. Interns will be assigned mentors for instruction and guidance, observe unit functions, and may complete work assignments to reinforce learning and benefit the work unit. They are responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo Clinic and their educational institution. The internship duration is Summer 2027 (May-August).

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a 2-year master's or graduate degree program from a college or university and attending classes in-person.
  • Residential programs are preferred, but virtual programs are also considered.
  • Typically, this internship occurs after the student has taken most of the courses required by the graduate degree program.
  • Where applicable, the degree program must require an internship as a graduation requirement (or offer as a credit option).
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Not able to support student visas, including F1 visa types, or any other visa types.
  • Attach Mayo Clinic Administrative Internship Program Application Form.
  • Attach current resume (one to two pages) including: degrees (undergraduate and graduate), GPA, college/university, date degrees received/anticipated, academic, work, professional, community, and volunteer experience, scholarly and leadership activities, projects, awards, and honors.
  • Submit two Letters of recommendation: one academic and one professional.
  • Submit unofficial Undergraduate and Graduate Transcripts.

Responsibilities

  • Complete selected work assignments to reinforce learning and provide benefit to the work unit.
  • Complete all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo Clinic and the participating educational facility.
