About The Position

St. Luke's University Health Network (SLUHN) is seeking a Healthcare Administration Intern to support Network Professional Development, the Network Simulation Center, and Network Education. This internship offers a valuable opportunity for recent graduates or current students to gain hands-on experience in a leading healthcare network. The intern will assist with event planning, develop training materials, support educational events, and contribute to marketing and optimization efforts for the simulation center. St. Luke's is committed to providing excellent care, educating healthcare professionals, and improving access to services in the communities it serves.

Requirements

  • Open to recent graduates or current students enrolled in a two or four year college or university.
  • Must be able to stoop/bend; reach above shoulder level; squat; crouch; kneel; climb; lift heavy supplies and equipment; touch to perceive size, shape temperature and texture; hear high frequencies and day to day conversations, perceive objects near and far; and distinguish chromatic colors.
  • Should have good peripheral vision and depth perception.

  • Preference given to students enrolled in a related academic program.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with conference and professional development event planning.
  • Developing interactive workshops and leadership training scenarios.
  • Supporting educational events through material preparation, rostering, and on-site assistance.
  • Creating program and contract summaries to support future scalable models.
  • Contributing to simulation center marketing and optimization efforts, such as updating digital platforms, developing trainer materials, creating instructions for use, and enhancing internal resource sites.
  • Supports a department’s goals by providing assistance, ideas and solutions.
  • Works independently to complete tasks by assigned deadlines, following instructions given by manager for short-term and long-term projects.
  • Collaborates with a team to work on projects and make process improvements.
  • Professionally communicates, effectively prioritizes tasks and manages time well.
  • Learns and utilizes technology, software/hardware, tools and/or internal processes to complete assignments and tasks.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
