UW Medicine - Resource Team has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-time Days Health Unit Coordinator. The role requires thriving in a busy, fast-paced environment where multitasking and strong organizational skills are essential. The Health Unit Coordinator will provide staff, providers, and patients with an efficient system of internal and external communications, including answering phones and triaging call lights. They will respond to patient and family inquiries in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner, and assist in maintaining a welcoming and organized unit environment. The coordinator will work closely with the charge RN to help manage patient flow, prioritize unit needs, and coordinate admits, transfers, and discharges. Responsibilities also include preparing and compiling discharge packets, coordinating transportation and paperwork for patient transfers and diagnostic testing, handling unit paperwork, maintaining patient chart maintenance, consent forms, and other documentation, and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment and restocking as needed. The role involves utilizing computer systems such as Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for communication, documentation, and coordination, and partnering with all members of the care team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery. Other assigned duties may also be part of the role.
