About The Position

Health unit coordinators play a key role on each unit by providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients, families, and visitors. This role involves managing and facilitating the day-to-day operations of a unit, including answering phones, organizing files, ordering supplies, handling correspondence, managing databases, and providing general support to patients, family members, and other staff. The Health Unit Coordinator is often considered the backbone of the unit, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills to support patient care, collaboration with the clinical team to coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, and a high level of attention to detail to maintain accurate electronic health records and perform other clerical duties.

Requirements

High School Diploma Required
1 year of experience in a medical or customer service environment or experience of a similar nature Required

Nice To Haves

1 year of experience in a medical environment Preferred

Responsibilities

Manage and facilitate the day-to-day operations of a unit.
