About The Position

This position provides administrative and non-clinical support services to the assigned area(s) and supports patient care activities in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders. Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed. PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of record keeping, documentation, filing, and basic office procedures required.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Must successfully obtain Healthcare Provider BLS certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Must successfully obtain Telemetry Certification offered by Logan Health within three (3) months of hire.
  • Must successfully obtain Montana Notary Public Commission within three (3) months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Post high school education or vocational training in healthcare preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with electronic medical record (EMR) programs preferred.
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative and technical skills in an organized and accurate manner according to Logan Health (LH) policies and procedures and as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Completes pre-admission, admission, and discharge processes as applicable for assigned area(s).
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and preparing patient charts as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Enters provider orders in the house wide computer system and completes essential administrative patient care functions as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Assists the healthcare team in maintaining function in assigned area(s).
  • Restocking of rooms and supply areas.
  • Maintains the equipment in the patient care rooms for safety and cleanliness.
  • Assists the healthcare team in maintaining compliance with Medicare and all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Maintains close surveillance of patient monitor screens for patient deviations as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Responds to monitor alarms and contacts appropriate stakeholder for patient care as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Works with the healthcare team to set and maintain patient care and work priorities while responding to a changing workload.
  • Adheres and upholds all LH customer service policies and standards while caring for patients and interacting with others.
  • Exhibits cost containment with all resources.
  • Orders and maintains office supplies as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Performs notary functions within the requirements and guidelines of the state; processes paternity paperwork; functions as the birth registrar for by submitting birth certificate paperwork according to department procedure.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
