About The Position

PanCare of Florida is seeking a Health Technician to join their School Health Team in Bay County schools. This seasonal, part-time role is located at Deane Bozeman PK-5. The Health Technician will provide essential daily health services, including medication administration, first aid, health screening support, and responding to student health needs under the supervision of licensed medical professionals. The goal is to ensure a safe, healthy, and responsive school environment for all students.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Knowledge of basic medical procedures, first aid, and student health needs
  • Experience with record keeping, maintaining health documentation and managing health-related information
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Must complete Level 2 fingerprint background check, including both state and federal criminal history check

Nice To Haves

  • At least a year experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with children or in a school setting
  • Experience with Google shared drive

Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce school policies affecting the health, safety and well-being of employees and students in the school health setting
  • Provide medication administration; maintaining proper documentation and provide parent awareness of the need to re-supply medication
  • Notify PanCare nurse, parent/guardian, and principal of acutely ill or injure students
  • Assist with managing communicable diseases and conditions
  • Complete head lice interventions; including detection, parent education and screening for re-admission to school
  • Perform CPR/AED as needed
  • Documentation and data reporting of services provided in clinic according to established policy and procedure
  • Assist in provision of health screenings of students: hearing, vision, scoliosis, BMI and subsequent follow up referrals as requested
  • Perform specialized medical procedures for students after receiving child specific training and delegation by registered nurse such as monitoring clean catheterization; perform or assist with blood glucose monitoring, carbohydrate counting, and insulin administration, and administering enteral gravity or pump feedings
  • Oversee inventory and usage of first aid and related health supplies and equipment; inform principal of Health Room needs
  • Comply with confidentiality requirements of the Bay County School District and PanCare of Florida, Inc
  • Ensure all paperwork generated in clinic will be dispersed following established policies and procedures
