About The Position

The Health Tech will provide emergency medical assessment, basic first aid, and dispense medications to Forest Home guests and staff in a friendly, professional manner within the scope and of their training and Forest Home First Aid Department Policies and Protocols. This role involves providing basic First Aid to Forest Home guests and staff on a rotating shift basis with 24-hour on-call responsibilities, meeting guest and staff needs with a gracious attitude and an encouraging spirit. The Health Tech will also assist with assessment and facilitation of treatment for all staff members using Worker’s Compensation and completes documentation as instructed. A key responsibility is logging all assessments, treatments, and medications in the camp electronic medical record, and assisting in organizing transportation for guests who need to be driven off grounds for advanced healthcare needs. The Health Tech will assure all campers receive medications as directed and documents in the camp electronic medical record, working closely with licensed medical professionals to provide high-quality medical care to campers within First Aid Protocols. Additional duties include assisting with Health Screening procedures for all campers, assuring forms are collected and kept for medical records, and keeping all medication, first aid supplies, and treatment area neat, orderly, and properly secured. Clear and professional communication on the camp radio system is essential, as is adhering to the Forest Home dress code policy and utilizing and maintaining the Forest Home First Aid vehicle while practicing safe driving behaviors. The Health Tech will perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • AHA BLS Certification
  • Formal medical assessment training (EMT program, nursing school, etc.)
