We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Health System Director - Space Management.

Reporting to the Sr. Director for Campus and Facilities Planning, the Director will lead NYULHs enterprise space data management function, overseeing the accuracy, integrity, and strategic use of the organizations space inventory, floor plans, and related data systems. The Director will establish standards, processes, and performance measures that enable RED+F and institutional leadership to make informed decisions regarding space utilization, planning, real estate, capital investment, and operational needs.
The ideal candidate will bring strong space planning and analytical experience, a broad understanding of healthcare environments, and demonstrated expertise with IWMS/CAFM platforms, space data standards, and the translation of complex data into actionable information.g, and broad familiarity with IWMS systems and real estate industry space data standards.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in architecture, planning, real estate, facilities management, business, information systems, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in space management, facilities planning, real estate, workplace strategy, planning/design, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a complex healthcare environment strongly preferred.
• Experience leading or supporting enterprise IWMS/CAFM implementations preferred.
• Proficiency with IWMS/CAFM platforms such as Eptura, Planon, Archibus, or comparable systems; experience with CAD, database, spreadsheet, data visualization, and reporting applications.
• Demonstrated experience implementing, administering, or optimizing enterprise space management, IWMS, CAFM, real estate, or facilities management systems.
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management and governance of NYULHs enterprise space data, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, consistency, and timely maintenance of space inventories, floor plans, room attributes, and related information across the organization. Establish standards, processes, and protocols for the collection, validation, documentation, and reporting of space data.
• Develop and apply space utilization, productivity, and benchmarking metrics to identify opportunities and inform enterprise-wide planning, real estate, capital investment, and operational decisions. Translate complex space data into actionable insights through dashboards, reports, visualizations, and other analytical tools.
• Serve as RED+Fs functional lead for the implementation, optimization, and ongoing development of NYULHs IWMS/CAFM platform, partnering with MCIT and RED+F leadership to establish system requirements, workflows, data standards, reporting capabilities, and governance.
• Oversee the integration and ongoing validation of space information across NYULHs portfolio, including new sites, leases, acquisitions, renovations, capital projects, floor plans, room numbering, and physical space surveys.
• Lead the Space Request Form (SRF) intake and response process, establishing service standards, performance metrics, and reporting while identifying opportunities to improve responsiveness, transparency, and customer experience.
• Partner with Planning, Facilities, Real Estate, Finance, MCIT, and other stakeholders to align space data, systems, and processes with broader institutional objectives and identify opportunities for standardization, automation, technology, and continuous improvement.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the Space Management team, establishing priorities, performance expectations, service standards, and professional development opportunities while ensuring effective workload management and delivery of organizational priorities. Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to RED+F leadership and internal stakeholders on space data, utilization, and IWMS/CAFM systems.
