This is a part-time position, working 29 hours per week. The incumbent functions under the general direction of a Public Health Services Manager and is expected to follow policies in DHM150-24 for the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). The role involves determining WIC Program eligibility, documenting client information, advising clients of their rights and responsibilities, entering client voter preference information, issuing WIC ID and EBT cards, instructing families on program procedures, documenting appointments, requesting immunization documentation, and referring clients to community partners. The position also handles telephone duties, instructs clients on the Nutrition Education Newsletter, completes documentation, enters or performs height, weight, and routine laboratory tests (finger stick hemoglobin), and collects and records health information into the electronic record. Administrative duties include documenting work in the EARs and WIC computer systems, assisting with EBT card and formula inventories, informing colleagues and supervisors of schedule changes, participating in team meetings, submitting purchase requisitions, and making photocopies.
